As a Senior Social Strategist at Critical Mass, you'll be the strategic lead driving social initiatives for key organizational clients. The right candidate for this role will know how to mine complex data sets, then research and transform them into actionable strategic playbooks, while also understanding how to develop and execute strategic organic content concepts that drive real business results. You'll work in a collaborative, best-practice-focused environment where social expertise is celebrated and ownership is rewarded.

You Will:

  • Develop comprehensive social audits, competitive analyses, and strategic recommendations that serve as the foundation for integrated social strategies and playbooks
  • Define content pillars, themes, and platform-specific strategy that guides content development and social impact
  • Create and document strategic plans with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring clear implementation roadmaps and rigorous tracking mechanisms
  • Partner closely with internal creative teams and external partners to translate strategy into compelling organic content concepts
  • Provide strategic briefings and recommendations to clients, demonstrating strong presentation and communication skills across stakeholder levels
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with creative teams to ensure strategic alignment and campaign cohesion
  • Manage ongoing social media operations including monthly reporting, performance briefings, and content optimization recommendations
  • Utilize social listening tools and analytics platforms to inform strategy, manage community, and measure impact
  • Support the maintenance and optimization of brand social accounts and content calendars in partnership with team members

 

You Have:

  • 4-6+ years of demonstrated experience in organic social media strategy and content development with progressively increased responsibilities
  • Proven ability to take complicated data sets, research, and insights and translate them into clear, actionable strategic direction
  • Deep expertise across all major social platforms with a keen understanding of organic content nuances, best practices, and platform-specific content strategy
  • Strong strategic mindset paired with the ability to work creatively: you can speak “creative” regardless of whether or not you’re making it
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, create detailed plans, and follow through with precision and attention to detail
  • Hands-on experience with social media management software platforms (Sprout Social, Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Emplifi, or equivalent)
  • Experience with social listening tools and competitive analysis platforms (e.g. Talkwalker, Brandwatch)
  • Demonstrated client-facing capabilities with the ability to communicate strategically and professionally with stakeholder groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and to communicate effectively with creative teams and production partners

 

Bonus if you Have:

  • Experience developing strategy for mission-driven, non-profit, or regulated industry organizations
  • Familiarity with production workflows and how social content shoots are executed
  • Understanding of best practices across social strategy and community management

Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a number of factors that include, but aren’t limited to, a candidate’s experience and skills relative to the scope and responsibilities of the position. For current CM employees, tenure will also be a consideration.
Salary Range
$80,000—$95,000 CAD
